This policy explains what this website collects, why, and who else sees it. It applies to ehrismanlaw.com only. It does not cover information you give us once you become a client — that is governed by our engagement agreement and by the confidentiality rules that apply to lawyers.
A privacy policy is not attorney-client privilege
Sending the contact form does not make you a client and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Information you send before we agree to represent you does not carry the same protection as information shared with your lawyer. Please do not include details of your case, your immigration history, or anything you would not want read by someone else. Tell us how to reach you, and we will take it from there by phone.
What we collect
Two things: what you type into the form, and ordinary technical information your browser sends to every website.
Information you give us
The contact form asks for your name, phone number, email address, and case type, and gives you an optional box to describe your situation. All of it is sent to us by email.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device type, operating system, and approximate location (city level, derived from the IP address)
- Pages viewed, time on page, and the link or ad that brought you here
- Clicks on our phone number and WhatsApp links
- Server access logs kept by our hosting provider
Cookies and similar technologies
Small files that let the site count visits and let us see which ads bring people here. You can delete or block them.
| Set by | Names | What it does | Roughly how long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | _ga, _ga_… |
Counts visits and tells us which pages get read | Up to 2 years |
| Meta (Facebook, Instagram) | _fbp, _fbc |
Identifies the browser so Meta can tell us which ad led to a call or an inquiry | Up to 90 days |
| Cloudflare | __cf_bm and similar |
Security and bot filtering. Necessary for the site to work | Under 1 day |
| This site | r7_lead_pending |
Holds your phone and email in your own browser for a few seconds, only to confirm your form actually went through. Deleted as soon as the confirmation page loads, and in any case when you close the tab. Never holds your case type or your message | Seconds |
| Google Maps, YouTube | set by Google | The embedded map and video player. They load only when the page containing them loads | Varies |
Who else sees your information
A handful of service providers, each seeing only a slice. We do not sell your information, and we never send advertising platforms anything about your case.
Advertising and analytics
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we measure whether those ads work. When you call us, message us on WhatsApp, or send the form, we tell Meta that a contact happened and which page it happened on. If you send the form, we also send your phone number and email address in scrambled (hashed) form, so Meta can match the inquiry to the ad you clicked without receiving the address or number itself.
We do not send Meta the case type you selected, the message you wrote, or your name. That restriction is built into the site's code in two separate places, so that it cannot be turned off by accident.
Google Analytics receives page views and general device information, not your form entries.
Service providers
- No third-party form processor. The contact form is delivered straight to the firm's own server and then to our inbox. What you write does not pass through any outside form service.
- Cloudflare — delivers and protects the site; sees IP addresses
- Google — Analytics, the embedded map, and the embedded video player
- Meta Platforms — advertising measurement, as described above
- Our web hosting provider, and our IT and marketing vendors, under confidentiality obligations
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our clients, our staff, or the public.
What we do not do
The short list, because for our clients it matters more than the long one.
- We do not sell or rent your information.
- We do not tell advertising platforms what kind of immigration case you asked about.
- We do not share information with immigration enforcement agencies except where the law compels us to.
- We do not contact your employer, your family, or anyone else about your inquiry.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
We keep inquiries from people who do not become clients only for as long as the firm needs them for the purposes described in this policy and to meet its professional obligations. The firm sets that period internally and reviews it. We do not keep inquiries indefinitely, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time — see Your rights below.
If you become a client, your file is kept under the firm's file-retention practices, which are separate from this policy.
Your rights
Ask us for your information, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. You do not have to live in a particular state, and you do not have to give a reason.
Some states give residents specific privacy rights. Rather than sort out who qualifies, we extend the same rights to everyone who writes to us, wherever you live:
- Know what information we hold about you from this website
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Opt out of the advertising measurement described above
Email info@ehrismanlaw.com or call (678) 985-0313 and say what you want. We will confirm and act on it, normally within 45 days. Asking will never affect how we handle your case or your ability to hire us.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out and this site does not load the advertising measurement for you at all. You do not have to do anything else.
Your other choices
You can also turn tracking off from your own browser.
- Cookies: every browser lets you block or delete them. Blocking them will not stop you from using this site.
- Google Analytics: the opt-out browser add-on stops it entirely.
- Meta: your ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account control what you are shown and how your activity is used.
Children
This website is not built for children, even though some of our cases are about children.
The contact form is for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, a guardian, or another adult you trust to fill it out for you — or have them call the office at (678) 985-0313.
We do not knowingly collect information from children through this website. Our practice includes Special Immigrant Juvenile Status and other matters involving minors, and we want to hear about those cases — we just want an adult to be the one who writes to us first.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and our vendors maintain their own safeguards. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not use this form for anything sensitive or urgent.
Visitors outside the United States
Our office is in Georgia and our servers are in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, under United States law.
Changes to this policy
If we change it, we will update the date at the top of this page.
